Cooke City and Silver Gate

Cooke City is repeatedly the test site for Yamaha and Arctic Cat Snowmobiles.  This small community leads to 60 miles of groomed trails in the Gallatin Forest.  Winter access to Cooke City through Mammoth entrance at Gardiner.

Trails

Daisy Pass Road, Lulu Pass Road, Round Lake and Henderson Mountain are connecting trails. An easier, three-mile trail follows US 212 West from Cooke City to Silver gate.  The Cooke City trail system also connects with 50 miles of groomed trails in Wyoming.

 

Services

Snowmobile sales, service and rentals, lodging and food available in Cooke City.  shuttle service between Cooke City and Mammoth is available for Snowmobiles

Avalanches may occur at any time during the winter.  Avalanche conditions are available at local  Forest Service offices.
