Meet some of the friendliest folks in Montana! Gardiner is a community worth visiting for its own sake as a unique and hospitable town.  The Roosevelt Arch is the original entrance to Yellowstone National Park.  Here, Teddy Roosevelt delivered the dedication speech for the park to an estimated 5000 people.

Things to see and do in the Gardiner area...

Float! Adventurous visitors may be interested in taking a raft or kayak trip down the Yellowstone River.
Fish the Yellowstone River and enjoy the scenery. Do it yourself, or  find one of the local outfitters to guide you.
Discover cemeteries  that are older than old. We've got tombstones that date back to the Old West!
Spot incredible wildlife..within the city limits - elk, deer, sheep, coyotes, and even an occasional bear can be found on the streets of Gardiner!

 

Explore! The Gold Mine in Jardine is a piece of the Old West which still survives. The old bunkers, stamp mill, and ore washers stand as a monument to the rich mining history of the area.
Hunt!  Some of the best big game hunting in Montana happens here.  The streets of Gardiner are ablaze each fall with the orange vests of hunters.
